The unique and innovative academic programs at ISAS require unique facilities to complement them. Our laboratories, workshops, music rooms, interactive classes, visual arts and science center, and document management center are all designed and equipped with modern tools, machinery, furniture, gadgets and equipment. We have created a highly advanced environment in which students can thrive and enhance their talents and skills.

Support Facilities and Services

ISAS boasts 48 classrooms which are all full multimedia centers, 4 state of the art science laboratories, 2 computer laboratories, one library with internet and multimedia facilities, two workshops, swimming pool, wood and metal shop, music room and a recoding studio. The facilities are modernly designed and equipped, and are operated and maintained by qualified staff.

Clinics

The school’s resident physician oversees all student health related matters. A full time doctor and a nurse on duty in school document the students’ records and are on call for any emergency.

Transportation

A self-financing bussing service is organized from a variety of locations within an area from Al Warqa’a and is available to all students. The cost of the service depends on the location. All buses are operated by independent companies whose standards are monitored by ISAS. All buses will be equipped with seat belts and a GPS system which allows you to track the route of the bus.

Laboratories

We designed our labs with sufficient spaces to allow for the theory session to be presented in the laboratory, and the experimental aspects of the same session to be completed in the adjacent section.

  • Physics Lab: After constructing a virtual experiment or running a simulated experiment on their notebook computer, students perform the actual hands-on experiment and send a digital lab report to their teacher.
  • Chemistry Lab: The Chemistry lab is setup with smart, custom-made furniture that supports the simultaneous use of laptops and equipment. It includes a dark room for chemical storage in addition to a workspace for the lab instructor. An interactive board is connected to a PC with multimedia capabilities.
  • General Sciences Labs:
    - Primary Laboratory: The science labs have been customized based on a subdivision for grades 1 to 4 and grades 5 to 8. In the Primary Lab, learning is enhanced by interactive software, 3D models charts and science kits.
    - General Science Laboratory: The unique design of the General Laboratory allows students to work freely on experiments with access to glassware software and reagents, thus giving the instructor more time for individualized instruction.
  • Pre-Engineering Labs: Students exploring this field will get firsthand experience from simple measuring and reporting techniques to extensive extractions and distillations.
  • Pre-Medical Labs: Students are introduced to and interact with equipment used by doctors, medical lab personnel, forensics, technicians, nurses, veterinarians and dentists. This lab provides a one of a kind introduction into the world of medicine and related fields to medical practices.

Workshops

The pre-engineering and pre-med programs prescribed in the ISAS mandate, which form the main core of the ISAS curriculum, require adequate support in practice apart from the classroom theory. There are 5 technology rooms on campus that exceed the standard laboratory experience in the exposure level and derived experience. Here a student is exposed to processes in engineering, and experiences first-hand the conceptual applications that he would not have been able to visualize otherwise.

Art workshop: Art instruction, as a discipline, provides students with a unique and distinctive mode of learning and perceiving which is not taught by other subject areas of the school curriculum. With all this in mind, and with a pre-mass communication course and a pre-design course underway at ISAS, it was necessary to create an art program that flows into the planned concepts and allows adaptability to it. Essential to this is the arts workshop, which is strategically placed between all the outdoor playgrounds at ISAS to give the students easy access during their free time.

E-Services

ISAS offers a host of online services that open a direct link between parents, students, teachers and the school administration. We are using various technologies, beyond the traditional formats, to communicate in a time-efficient way with our community.

Libraries

The school library, equipped with a rich collection of educational materials and the latest Information Technology, is at the centre of the school. There are ample collections of books, reference materials, newspapers, periodicals, audio and visual materials, reference and educational programs on CD-ROM's, and professional journals for teachers. It is equipped with state of the art technology and computers to allow online research and data access. It is designed with maximum efficiency, furnished in warm wooden designs, and can seat 100 students. There is an additional smaller library on campus designed around students of the lower classes, allowing them to be in a friendly and less exact ambiance. These are also adequately equipped and technology supported.

Music Rooms

The school’s engineering design was purposely built to include a large music and choir room with a main stage and several acoustically sealed cubicles for individual training. Another room is set for the students of K-8 so that all students, regardless of age, cultural heritage, or prior ability, should participate fully in the highest quality musical experiences possible and develop their skills further.

Visual Arts & Science Center

Designed with a futuristic outlook, the Visual Arts and Science Center is an advanced learning and leisure facility that is accessible only to those students who academically progress and deserve a unique reward. It is equipped with 2 computer-controlled deep space telescopes, multimedia computers with advanced graphic design applications and film editing suites, and a host of gadgets, support tools and mechanisms that keep the members busy and entertained in an environment of education and learning.

Interactive Classrooms

At ISAS, all classes from k-12 are equipped with full multimedia capability. This will allow our teachers to actively access our database and library and the internet to retrieve data, and therefore enhance the classroom material with pre-designed and approved processes. This allows our students to develop and learn through active engagement. The classroom technology components include a 3000 lumens multimedia projector, an interactive white board and a classroom server wired into the main network and database servers. In grades 9–12, where the Notebooks 4 Books (N4B) environment is deployed, the technology is even more advanced.

Document Management Center

The Document Management Center at ISAS offers tremendous publishing and printing capabilities in the following areas:

  • Academic resources: such as books and exams
  • Administrational requirements: such as newsletters or internal organization documents
  • Extra-curricular printing: such as a school’s year book or a club or society’s annual book
  • General publications: school photos, press releases or promotional material

Through its advanced software and design, this document management solution is integrated into the rest of a school’s operation to allow for a seamless process. From the moment a student registers, they are allotted with the appropriate text books and printed materials. Furthermore, their parents are continuously in touch with the students learning environment via the various publications and printed communications.

Recording Studio

ISAS has a fully equipped recording studio, ready for students to record and edit their singing and performances.
